French artist JR has teamed up with Chinese artist Liu Bolin on a collaborative artwork in New York City. JR is known for his beautiful large scale works around the globe, while Liu Bolin is known for making himself disappear or make invisible on interesting backgrounds.

The wonder-trio Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker (also know as the design collaborative HTM) have unveiled their HTM Flyknit Collection for Nike.
The concept is a single-engineered base that eliminates the use of glue, sewing, and cutting in its construction. With a newly designed sole, the shoe is made to be more responsive, expressive and lighter than other running silhouettes. On top of the sole, the Flyknit features a dynamic, newly-designed Flywire technology to loosen and tighten with the natural motion of the feet.
A great example of that design and innovation can take a brand to new places.
There are 3 shoes in the Nike HTM Flyknit Collection – the HTM Racer and two versions of the HTM Trainer+.

The Bouroullec brothers is on show at Vitra Design Museum Gallery from 3February – 6 June 2012 with an exhibition album featuring their original sketches, freehand drawings and formal studies drawing attention to the medium of drawing itself. The exhibition offers insight into the ideas and inspiration of the designers that is often inspired by shapes and structures of nature.
The exhibition also includes a film on the discipline of drawing directed by the French collective Megaforce.

We are very thrilled about the announcement of the establishment of Fondazione Achille Castiglioni.
Since 2006 more than 24,000 visitors have visited the Studio Museo Achille Castiglioni in Milan where his designs, drawings and collectibles has been accessible to the public. All this due to his heirs – Irma, Carlo, Monica and Giovanna. With the Achille Castigloini Foundation they will continue their work in the true spirit of Achille Castiglioni.
The Studio of Achille Castiglioni is a treasure box and an amazing experience not to be missed.

One of the most compelling universes at Maison & Object in January was the Danish design brand Hay. Their new Hay House concept targeted global wholesale is genius and a great way to display. Great design, great editing and affordable prices.

These images are probably some of the last pictures to be ever shoot in its original setting, created and shaped by the icon and master of danish modern Børge Mogensen. The Mogensen brothers continue the spirit from their father and the design studio of Børge Mogensen continues to be managed by Architect Peter Mogensen. As friends of the 2 brothers we are happy and proud to announce that we are working on revitalising some of the great old designs over the next years for the design brand STELLAR WORKS. The first “new” old designs will be revealed during Salone del Mobile where STELLAR WORKS will have its European debut.

During Maison & Objet in Paris this month, one of our favourite Japanese designers Tokujin presented an evolution of his ‘crystalized project’ which first began in 2007. Since the first pieces Tokujin has experimented with forming new natural structures for which he can apply the crystallization process. The beauty and the power of nature fascinates him. “Even if designers create works exactly as intended, there are nevertheless many pieces of work that cannot match up against natural shapes. So to what extent can we draw out the ‘accidental’ form of nature and mould it into beautiful shapes?” says Tokujin.
The life of the rose transforms itself along with the growth of crystals.
“This work of art is completed by the serendipitous beauty born of nature which goes beyond human imagination.”
Tokujin Yoshioka was awarded Designer of the Year 2012 at Maison & Objet and exhibited for the first time in Paris during the fair 20-24 January 2012.
